While the dog days of summer are still a while away, it doesn't mean you can't plan too early for our annual baseball outing with the White Sox! UFCW Local 1546 members and their family and friends are invited out to the ballpark to cheer on the Chicago White Sox and support a great cause—the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Our annual “Sox it to Leukemia” event will take place this year on Sunday, August 1 as the Chicago White Sox take on the Oakland Athletics. This game also features a "Kid's Day" theme as kids are allowed to run the bases on the field after the game. It should be a fun time for the whole family.
Did you know that you and your children may be eligible for thousands of dollars in union scholarships for 2010? In addition to our own scholarship program, Local 1546 members can apply to several other union scholarship opportunities.
UFCW Young Workers
Did you know that the UFCW has the largest percentage of young workers than any other union in North America? In fact, 40% of all UFCW members are under the age of 30. With that in mind, the UFCW has set up a website geared just for our younger members to connect with each other and to answer questions specific to this age group. Check out the site today at www.ufcw.org/youngworkers.

In fact, in just the past several years, the average household’s credit card debt rose to a record $7,520 monthly balance, not including mortgage debt, student loans and automobile loans.
