Check out this year’s brand new way for you and your family to enjoy a special day of rides, attractions, and shows – all at a great Local 1546 discounted price – at Six Flags Great America!
It’s baseball season once again and UFCW Local 1546 members and their family and friends are invited out to the ballpark to cheer on the Chicago White Sox and support a great cause—the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Our annual “Sox it to Leukemia” event will take place this year on Friday, September 5th as the Chicago White Sox take on the Los Angeles Angels. This game also features a “Latin Night” themed-celebration with musicians and other entertaining acts performing at the park throughout the night. It should be a fun time for the whole family.
Hoping to secure the American dream for America's workers, the UFCW has endorsed U.S. Senator Barack Obama (Illinois) in the 2008 Presidential Election. The UFCW believes that Senator Obama is the best candidate to build a movement to unite our country that will deliver the type of change that is needed – for good jobs, affordable health care, retirement security and worker safety.
Dominick's Member - Fundraiser
One of our UFCW Local 1546 members at Dominick's recently informed us that her friend and co-worker at Starbucks in Naperville has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Since our union members contribute greatly to our charity causes, we hope they will extend their generosity toward Theresa Meyer, whose insurance unfortunately does not cover many of her medical expenses. A medical fund has been set up at Chase Bank (operating at Dominick's store locations)in her name. To contribute to this fund, members and their family and friends can donate any amount of deposit to Chase Bank - account #784135717. Thank you in advance for your support.
With the 2008 elections gearing up, the UFCW is proud to announce the launch of www.VoteUFCW.org, a new political site dedicated to the 2008 Presidential Election and the issues that matter to working Americans.
Wake Up Wal-Mart Campaign

Workers at Smithfield Packing's Tar Heel, North Carolina plant, the world's largest hog processing plant with over 6,000 employees, need your help to end their poverty level wages, brutal working conditions, and discriminatory abuse. Over the years, Smithfield Packing has created an environment of intimidation, racial tension, fear and sometimes, violence, for workers who desperately want a voice on the job.
